Battle of Kunersdorf

A major battle of the Seven Years’ War, fought near Kunersdorf in 1759, in which Russian and Austrian forces defeated Frederick the Great’s Prussian army.

Frederick the Great: King of Prussia from 1740 to 1786 and a leading military commander of the eighteenth century. He led the Prussian army and ordered the attacks that failed to break the allied position.
Battle of Zorndorf: A costly 1758 battle between Prussian and Russian forces during the Seven Years’ War. Its unresolved outcome left Russia and Prussia facing each other again in the next campaign.
Siege of Dresden (1760): The 1760 siege in which Prussian forces briefly captured Dresden before withdrawing under Austrian pressure. The allies could not convert Kunersdorf into the destruction of Prussia, and the war continued.
