Battle of Navarino

The 1827 naval battle in which British, French, and Russian forces destroyed the Ottoman-Egyptian fleet in Navarino Bay, hastening the creation of an independent Greece.

Navarino Bay: A deep natural harbor on the southwestern coast of the Peloponnese in Greece. Its narrow entrance and enclosed waters trapped the Ottoman-Egyptian fleet during the battle.
