Battle of Pavia

The Battle of Pavia was a 1525 battle in which imperial forces defeated the French army and captured King Francis I near Pavia, Italy.

Francis I of France: King of France from 1515 to 1547, captured by imperial troops at Pavia. His capture transformed a battlefield defeat into a crisis for the French monarchy.
