Battle of Sagrajas

The Battle of Sagrajas was an 1086 victory by Almoravid forces over the army of Alfonso VI of León and Castile near Badajoz. It checked Christian expansion in al-Andalus and strengthened Almoravid influence there.

Almoravid dynasty: A Berber Muslim dynasty that ruled parts of North Africa and al-Andalus in the eleventh and twelfth centuries. Its forces crossed from North Africa and defeated Alfonso VI’s army.
