Battle of Stiklestad

A battle fought in Norway in 1030 in which forces loyal to King Olaf II were defeated and Olaf was killed. His death helped establish his cult as Saint Olaf.

Olaf II of Norway: King of Norway from 1015 to 1028, later venerated as Saint Olaf. His return from exile to reclaim the throne led to the battle, where he was killed.
