Battle of Taginae

The 552 battle in which Byzantine forces under Narses defeated the Ostrogoths under Totila in Italy, breaking Ostrogothic resistance to Justinian’s reconquest.

Narses: A Byzantine general and eunuch who led Justinian’s forces in the final campaigns against the Ostrogoths. He chose the battlefield and commanded the Byzantine army at Taginae.
