Battle of the Plains of Abraham

A battle fought near Quebec City on 13 September 1759, in which British forces under James Wolfe defeated French forces under Louis-Joseph de Montcalm during the Seven Years’ War.

James Wolfe: A British Army officer who commanded British forces at the Battle of the Plains of Abraham. His decision to land west of Quebec and draw the French into battle shaped the engagement.
Seven Years’ War: A global conflict fought from 1756 to 1763 among major European powers and their allies. The battle was a pivotal North American episode in this worldwide war.
