Battle of Vitoria

A decisive 1813 battle in the Peninsular War in which Allied forces under Arthur Wellesley defeated Joseph Bonaparte’s French army, hastening the end of French rule in Spain.

Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington: The British commander who led Allied armies in the Peninsular War and later defeated Napoleon at Waterloo. He coordinated the Allied advance against the French positions around Vitoria.
