Bengali nationalism

Bengali nationalism is a political movement grounded in the shared language, culture, and historical identity of Bengali people. It shaped the creation of Bangladesh and remains influential in Bengali political life.

Bengal Renaissance: A nineteenth-century movement of social, literary, and intellectual reform centered in Bengal. Its literary and cultural revival helped give modern Bengali identity new political force.
Bengali language: An Indo-Aryan language spoken primarily in Bangladesh and the Indian state of West Bengal. Its public use and state recognition became practical tests of Bengali political equality.
