Benghazi

Benghazi is a major port city on Libya’s northeastern Mediterranean coast and the country’s second-largest urban center.

Euesperides: An ancient Greek city in Cyrenaica, identified with the site of modern Benghazi. Its remains mark the earliest major settlement associated with the city.
Siege of Tobruk: A prolonged World War II siege of the Libyan port of Tobruk by Axis forces. The fighting formed part of the North African campaign that repeatedly changed control of Benghazi.
