Bernard Montgomery

Bernard Montgomery (1887–1976) was a British field marshal who commanded Allied forces in North Africa and northwest Europe during World War II. His cautious, methodical approach shaped major campaigns against German forces.

Second Battle of El Alamein: A 1942 Allied victory in Egypt that drove Axis forces westward from the El Alamein line. Montgomery planned and led the British Eighth Army in this turning-point victory.
Dwight D. Eisenhower: An American general who served as Supreme Allied Commander in Europe during World War II. Eisenhower was Montgomery's senior commander and repeatedly arbitrated disputes over Allied strategy.
