Bharatiya Janata Party

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is an Indian political party founded in 1980. It is one of India’s major national parties and has led the Union government.

Bharatiya Jana Sangh: An Indian political party founded in 1951 that was a predecessor of the Bharatiya Janata Party. The BJP emerged in 1980 from the political lineage of this earlier party.
Sangh Parivar: A network of organizations associated with Hindu nationalism and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. The BJP is its principal political party, alongside affiliated social organizations.
Narendra Modi: An Indian politician who has served as prime minister since 2014 and led the BJP’s national campaigns. His leadership has defined the party’s electoral strategy and government since 2014.
