Bing Crosby

Bing Crosby (1903–1977) was an American singer and actor whose relaxed vocal style, popular recordings, and film Going My Way made him a defining entertainer of the twentieth century.

Paul Whiteman: An American bandleader who led one of the most popular dance orchestras of the 1920s. Crosby gained national attention as a vocalist in Whiteman’s orchestra.
Crooning: An intimate popular-singing style that uses soft tone, close phrasing, and microphone amplification. Crosby’s relaxed delivery became one of crooning’s best-known examples.
White Christmas (song): A 1942 song by Irving Berlin, first introduced by Crosby in the film Holiday Inn. Crosby’s recording became one of the best-selling singles in music history.
