Heterosexuality : A sexual orientation involving attraction to a different gender, commonly described as straight. It is often incorrectly inferred from a bisexual person’s current different-gender relationship.
Minority stress : Chronic stress arising from stigma, discrimination, and expectations of rejection associated with marginalized identities. Research uses this framework to explain elevated health burdens linked to anti-bisexual stigma.
Bisexual erasure : The denial, omission, or minimization of bisexuality in social, cultural, and institutional settings. Erasure helps explain why bisexuality can remain invisible despite widespread attraction to multiple genders.
Romantic orientation : A pattern of romantic attraction that may or may not align with sexual attraction. Some bisexual people distinguish the genders they desire romantically from those they desire sexually.
