Black supremacy

Black supremacy is a racial ideology that asserts Black people are superior to other racial groups and advocates their dominance over them.

Black nationalism: A political tradition advocating Black identity, unity, self-determination, or nationhood. Black supremacy has appeared within some Black nationalist currents, but nationalism does not inherently endorse racial dominance.
White supremacy: An ideology asserting white racial superiority and advocating white dominance over other groups. It is the closest parallel in structure, while differing in historical power and social context.
Racial segregation: The enforced separation of people into racial groups across public or private life. Supremacist ideologies can justify separation as a means of preserving racial hierarchy.
Racial justice: The pursuit of fair treatment and equitable outcomes across racial groups. Justice-oriented efforts oppose racial subordination without requiring claims of group superiority.
Nation of Islam: A religious and political movement founded in the United States in 1930. Some historical Nation of Islam teachings promoted Black separatism and racial hierarchy associated with this ideology.
Pan-Africanism: A movement promoting solidarity and cooperation among people of African descent worldwide. Its aims of unity and liberation are distinct from racial hierarchy.
Racial essentialism: The belief that racial groups possess fixed, inherent traits shared by their members. Claims of racial superiority rely on treating race as a basis for innate group character.
Identity politics: Political organizing that emphasizes shared interests and experiences associated with social identity. Black political organizing is sometimes mislabeled as supremacist despite distinct aims and beliefs.
Elijah Muhammad: The leader of the Nation of Islam from 1934 until his death in 1975. His teachings included doctrines of Black superiority and white subordination.
Black separatism: A political position favoring separate institutions or communities for Black people. Separation can be advocated without asserting that one race should dominate others.
