Static website : A website whose pages are served as fixed files rather than generated from changing content or user-specific data. A blog’s regularly added posts contrast with a site made of largely fixed pages.
Content management system : Software for creating, organizing, and publishing digital content. Many blogs use these systems to publish and manage posts without hand-coding pages.
Chronological sorting : Ordering items by their dates or times. Reverse chronological sorting places a blog’s newest posts first.
Jorn Barger : An American writer who coined the term “weblog” in 1997. Barger named the web-journal practice from which the word “blog” emerged.
Corporate blog : A blog published by a company to communicate with customers, employees, or the public. Organizations use blogs for announcements, expertise, and direct communication.
Microblogging : A form of online publishing built around short posts shared frequently. Microblogs favor brief updates, while conventional blogs often support longer entries.
