Bob Pettit

Bob Pettit is an American basketball player who spent his NBA career with the Milwaukee and St. Louis Hawks. He led the St. Louis Hawks to the 1958 NBA championship.

1958 NBA Finals: The NBA championship series in which the St. Louis Hawks defeated the Boston Celtics. Pettit scored 50 points in Game 6 to secure the Hawks’ only NBA championship.
Rebounding: Gaining possession after a missed field-goal or free-throw attempt. Pettit led the NBA in rebounds four times and made rebounding a central part of his impact.
Baton Rouge High School: A public high school in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Pettit developed into a standout basketball player there before entering college.
Atlanta Hawks: A professional basketball team in the NBA, originally established as the Buffalo Bisons in 1946. The franchise that Pettit led in St. Louis later became the Atlanta Hawks.
