Boeing B-52 Stratofortress

The Boeing B-52 Stratofortress is a long-range, subsonic strategic bomber developed for the United States Air Force. Introduced in the 1950s, it has served in nuclear deterrence and conventional strike roles.

Boeing B-52 airframe: The B-52’s swept-wing, eight-engine airframe, designed for long-range flight and heavy payloads. Its high-mounted wings, paired engine pods, and flexible structure define the aircraft’s recognizable form.
Convair B-36 Peacemaker: A large, long-range strategic bomber powered by piston and jet engines, used by the United States Air Force from 1948 to 1959. The B-52 was developed to replace the B-36 as the principal intercontinental bomber.
Operation Linebacker II: A United States bombing campaign against North Vietnam conducted in December 1972. B-52 formations conducted the campaign’s sustained heavy bombing raids.
