Bohemond I of Antioch

Bohemond I was a Norman leader of the First Crusade who captured Antioch and became its first prince, ruling from 1098 until 1111.

Robert Guiscard: A Norman conqueror who ruled southern Italy and Sicily in the eleventh century. Bohemond’s father established the dynasty and military resources from which he emerged.
Siege of Antioch: A prolonged First Crusade siege of Antioch, ending with the city’s capture in June 1098. Bohemond secured the insider’s arrangement that enabled the crusaders to enter the city.
