Bolivian National Revolution

The 1952 revolution in Bolivia brought the Revolutionary Nationalist Movement to power and introduced universal suffrage, agrarian reform, and nationalization of the tin mines.

Revolutionary Nationalist Movement: A Bolivian political party that led the 1952 revolution and governed through much of the following decade. The party organized the uprising and implemented its central reforms.
Chaco War: The 1932–1935 war between Bolivia and Paraguay over the Gran Chaco region. Defeat weakened Bolivia’s political order and helped generate demands for national reform.
