Booth Tarkington

Booth Tarkington (1869–1946) was an American novelist and playwright known for depicting Midwestern life, especially in The Magnificent Ambersons and the Penrod books.

The Magnificent Ambersons: A 1918 novel by Booth Tarkington about an established Midwestern family disrupted by social and technological change. This Pulitzer-winning novel is Tarkington’s most prominent portrait of a family losing its standing.
