Bora Bora

Bora Bora is an island in the Society Islands of French Polynesia, surrounded by a coral reef and lagoon and dominated by the volcanic peaks of Mount Otemanu and Mount Pahia.

Mount Otemanu: A steep volcanic peak and the highest point on Bora Bora. Its eroded summit is the island’s most recognizable landmark.
Society Islands: An archipelago in French Polynesia that includes Tahiti, Moorea, and Bora Bora. Bora Bora is one of the archipelago’s Leeward Islands.
Bora Bora Airport: An airport on Motu Mute serving Bora Bora and its surrounding islands. Its location on an outer islet makes boat transfers part of most arrivals.
Operation Bobcat: A United States military operation that established a supply base on Bora Bora during World War II. The operation brought thousands of American personnel and extensive military construction to the island.
Mount Pahia: A prominent volcanic peak on Bora Bora, beside Mount Otemanu. It forms the island’s other defining high point.
