Knowra BOSS Great Wall BOSS Great Wall The BOSS Great Wall is a vast arrangement of galaxy clusters and superclusters identified in data from the Baryon Oscillation Spectroscopic Survey. It traces large-scale structure in the universe.
Galaxy cluster : A gravitationally bound system containing hundreds to thousands of galaxies, hot gas, and dark matter. Clusters are among the largest bound structures grouped within the BOSS Great Wall.
Spectroscopy : The study of light separated into wavelengths to reveal information about its source. BOSS spectra provided the redshifts needed to place galaxies at estimated distances.
