The organizations and political activity through which Brazilian workers have pursued economic and social rights, from early labor associations to contemporary unions and movements.

Brazilian First Republic: Brazil's republican period from 1889 to 1930, marked by oligarchic rule and rapid urban change. Urbanization and immigration helped create the workforce and associations behind early labor organizing.
