British abolitionism

British abolitionism was a movement to end the transatlantic slave trade and slavery in the British Empire, achieved through legislation in 1807 and 1833.

Thomas Clarkson: An English abolitionist who gathered evidence about the slave trade and helped organize the campaign against it. His investigations supplied testimony and material evidence for the parliamentary campaign.
