Burt Lancaster

Burt Lancaster (1913–1994) was an American actor and film producer whose screen career ranged from athletic film noir and westerns to historical dramas and character roles.

From Here to Eternity: A 1953 war drama set at a U.S. Army post in Hawaii before the attack on Pearl Harbor. Lancaster’s role as Sergeant Milton Warden made this film one of his signature performances.
Hecht-Hill-Lancaster: An independent film production company founded by Burt Lancaster, Harold Hecht, and James Hill. The company let Lancaster produce ambitious films beyond the studio system.
