Byzantine Greece

Byzantine Greece comprised the Greek-speaking lands ruled by the Byzantine Empire from its fourth-century beginnings until the Ottoman conquest of its remaining territories.

Roman Greece: The Greek territories governed by Rome from the Roman conquest of Greece through the empire’s division and transformation. Byzantine rule inherited Roman provincial institutions and cities across Greece.
