Zhang Decheng: Zhang Decheng was a prominent Boxer leader active in Zhili during the Boxer Rebellion. He led another major Boxer force in the Tianjin region, alongside Cao’s movement.
Boxer Rebellion: The Boxer Rebellion was an anti-foreign and anti-Christian uprising in northern China around 1899–1901. Cao’s leadership in Tianjin formed part of this larger uprising.
