Cape Agulhas

A rocky headland in South Africa’s Western Cape province, Cape Agulhas marks the southernmost point of the African continent and the meeting region of the Atlantic and Indian oceans.

Agulhas National Park: A South African national park protecting coastal landscapes around Cape Agulhas. The park encompasses the headland and much of its surrounding coastline.
Cape Agulhas Lighthouse: A lighthouse completed in 1849 at Cape Agulhas, South Africa. It was built to warn ships of the hazardous coastline.
Agulhas Current: A warm, fast-flowing ocean current that runs southwestward along Africa’s southeastern coast. Its proximity helps shape marine conditions east of the headland.
