Carrie Lam

Carrie Lam is a Hong Kong politician who served as chief executive of Hong Kong from 2017 to 2022, during a period marked by mass protests and political change.

2019–2020 Hong Kong protests: A mass protest movement in Hong Kong that began in 2019 over a proposed extradition bill and broadened into demands for political change. The proposed bill that triggered the protests was introduced under Lam’s government.
