Carter Family

An influential American country music group formed in 1927 by A. P. Carter, Sara Carter, and Maybelle Carter. Their recordings helped establish the sound and repertoire of country music.

A. P. Carter: American song collector, publisher, and musician who founded the Carter Family. He organized the original group and gathered songs that became central to its repertoire.
