Casimir III the Great

King of Poland from 1333 to 1370, Casimir III strengthened royal authority, expanded the kingdom, and founded the University of Kraków.

Kingdom of Poland (1025–1385): A medieval European kingdom ruled by the Piast dynasty and, later, the Jagiellonian dynasty. Casimir strengthened this kingdom and left it more unified and prosperous.
Piast dynasty: The first historical ruling dynasty of Poland, whose members governed from the tenth through the fourteenth century. Casimir was the last Piast king of Poland.
