Central Powers

The World War I coalition of Germany, Austria-Hungary, the Ottoman Empire, and Bulgaria, which fought the Allied Powers from 1914 until its defeat in 1918.

Triple Alliance: A prewar treaty linking Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Italy, formed in 1882. It joined Germany and Austria-Hungary before the war, though Italy later fought against them.
