Chagatai language

Chagatai was a Turkic literary language used across Central Asia from the late medieval period into the twentieth century. It drew on eastern Turkic speech and Persian literary traditions.

Karluk languages: A branch of Turkic languages that includes Uzbek and Uyghur. Chagatai developed from the eastern Turkic speech associated with this branch.
Karakhanid language: An eastern Turkic literary language used from the eleventh to thirteenth centuries. It is an earlier literary stage in the eastern Turkic tradition preceding Chagatai.
