Charles Aznavour

Charles Aznavour (1924–2018) was a French-Armenian singer, songwriter, and actor whose expressive voice and songs, including “La Bohème” and “Hier encore,” brought him international fame.

La Bohème: A 1965 song by Charles Aznavour about an aging painter remembering his impoverished youth in Montmartre. Its nostalgic portrait of vanished bohemian life became one of Aznavour’s signature songs.
