Charles Thomas Jackson

Charles Thomas Jackson (1805–1880) was an American physician, geologist, and chemist whose claims concerning the discovery of ether anesthesia led to a prolonged dispute with dentist William T. G. Morton.

William T. G. Morton: An American dentist who publicly demonstrated ether anesthesia in 1846 and disputed Jackson’s claim to the discovery. Morton became Jackson’s principal rival over credit for ether anesthesia.
