Chen Duxiu

Chen Duxiu (1879–1942) was a Chinese intellectual, political activist, and co-founder of the Chinese Communist Party, which he led as its first general secretary.

New Culture Movement: A Chinese intellectual movement of the 1910s and 1920s that challenged Confucian tradition and promoted science, democracy, and vernacular writing. Chen helped launch the movement through his journal New Youth.
Li Dazhao: A Chinese Marxist intellectual and librarian who helped found the Chinese Communist Party. Li and Chen jointly promoted Marxism and helped organize the party’s founding.
Comintern: The Communist International, founded in 1919 to coordinate communist parties and revolutionary movements worldwide. Its directives shaped the alliance strategy that Chen implemented in China.
