Chevalley–Warning theorem

The Chevalley–Warning theorem states that a system of polynomial equations over a finite field has a number of common solutions divisible by the field’s characteristic when the sum of their degrees is less than the number of variables.

Finite field: A field with finitely many elements, whose size is a power of a prime. The theorem’s divisibility conclusion uses the characteristic of this field.
