Cho Oyu

Cho Oyu is an 8,188-meter Himalayan peak on the Nepal–China border and the world’s sixth-highest mountain. Its comparatively accessible standard route has made it a frequent objective for high-altitude climbers.

Cho Oyu Normal Route: The standard climbing route on Cho Oyu, ascending its northwest face and northwest ridge from Tibet. This route is the usual line for summit attempts and underlies the mountain’s reputation for accessibility.
Herbert Tichy: An Austrian mountaineer and writer who co-led Cho Oyu’s first successful ascent in 1954. Tichy led the expedition that first reached Cho Oyu’s summit.
Himalayas: A mountain range in Asia containing the world’s highest peaks, including Mount Everest. Cho Oyu is one of the major peaks in this range.
