Chris Patten

Chris Patten is a British Conservative politician who served as the last governor of Hong Kong, from 1992 until the territory’s 1997 handover to China.

Hong Kong handover: The 1997 transfer of sovereignty over Hong Kong from the United Kingdom to China. Patten’s governorship ended with this transfer, which he attended as Britain’s final governor.
