Christian de Duve

Christian de Duve (1917–2013) was a Belgian cytologist and biochemist who discovered lysosomes and peroxisomes. He shared the 1974 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for discoveries about cell organization.

Albert Claude: A Belgian-American cell biologist who developed methods for studying cell structure and shared the 1974 Nobel Prize. Claude’s cell-fractionation work helped establish the experimental program de Duve extended.
