Patagonia : A sparsely populated region spanning southern Argentina and Chile, defined by plateaus, mountains, and cold climates. Chubut occupies central Patagonia, between the Andes and the Atlantic.
Península Valdés : A peninsula on Argentina’s Atlantic coast known for marine wildlife and designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This protected area is Chubut’s best-known destination for whale and wildlife watching.
Tehuelche people : Indigenous peoples of Patagonia who historically lived across the region’s plains and coasts. Tehuelche communities inhabited the territory long before provincial borders were established.

Atlantic Ocean : The world’s second-largest ocean, extending between the Americas, Europe, and Africa. Chubut’s eastern coastline meets the Atlantic and includes major marine wildlife habitats.
Patagonian sheep farming : The raising of sheep for wool and meat across the dry grasslands of Patagonia. Sheep ranching became a defining land use across much of Chubut’s interior.
