Chutia Kingdom

The Chutia Kingdom was a medieval polity in northeastern Assam ruled by the Chutia dynasty. The Ahom kingdom conquered it in the 16th century.

Chutia people: An Indigenous community of Assam associated historically with the upper Brahmaputra valley and the Chutia Kingdom. The kingdom’s ruling dynasty emerged from this community and shaped its political identity.
Chutia inscriptions: Stone and copperplate records associated with Chutia rulers and their political domain. Inscriptions provide evidence for royal authority, grants, and the kingdom’s historical setting.
