CIE 1931 color space : A color-matching system that represents stimuli with three tristimulus values based on standardized human vision. CIELAB derives its input tristimulus values from this foundational colorimetric system.
CIELAB coordinates : The L*, a*, and b* values that encode lightness, green–red opposition, and blue–yellow opposition. These three coordinates are the defining outputs of the CIELAB model.
