Clara Zetkin

Clara Zetkin (1857–1933) was a German socialist politician, journalist, and feminist who helped organize the international socialist women’s movement and proposed an annual International Women’s Day.

Rosa Luxemburg: A Polish-German Marxist theorist and revolutionary socialist who opposed reformism and advocated mass political action. Luxemburg shared Zetkin’s revolutionary socialist commitments and worked alongside her in the German Social Democratic Party.
Social Democratic Party of Germany: A German political party founded in 1875 that became a major force in the international socialist movement. Zetkin organized within the party and led its work among women for many years.
