Classical swine fever

Classical swine fever is a highly contagious viral disease of domestic pigs and wild boar. Its severity ranges from unapparent infection to fatal hemorrhagic illness.

Classical swine fever virus: A pestivirus in the family Flaviviridae that causes classical swine fever in pigs and wild boar. This virus causes the disease and spreads chiefly through infected animals and contaminated materials.
