Knowra Claude Lanzmann Claude Lanzmann Claude Lanzmann (1925–2018) was a French filmmaker, journalist, and writer best known for directing Shoah , a documentary about the Holocaust built from survivor, witness, and perpetrator testimony.
Shoah : A 1985 documentary by Claude Lanzmann that investigates the Holocaust through filmed testimony and visits to historical sites. This nine-hour film is Lanzmann’s defining work and the clearest expression of his method.
