Coalsack Nebula

The Coalsack Nebula is a prominent dark nebula in the constellation Crux, seen as a dense cloud of dust obscuring the Milky Way’s star fields.

Dark nebula: An interstellar cloud of dust and gas that appears dark by obscuring light from stars behind it. The Coalsack is a conspicuous example of this kind of light-blocking cloud.
