Collaborationism

Collaborationism is political or social cooperation with an occupying power or its regime. It can range from administrative cooperation to active ideological or military support.

Vichy France: The French regime that governed from Vichy and collaborated with Nazi Germany during World War II. Its officials administered occupation and helped implement anti-Jewish persecution.
Military occupation: A situation in which a foreign power exercises effective control over territory during armed conflict. Collaborationism arises within the political and social conditions created by occupation.
Resistance during World War II: Organized and unorganized opposition to Axis occupation and rule during World War II. It contrasts direct opposition with cooperation, while leaving room for mixed conduct.
