Comcast

Comcast is an American telecommunications and media conglomerate that provides cable television, internet, and phone services and owns NBCUniversal.

Broadband: High-capacity internet access technologies that transmit data at substantially higher rates than traditional dial-up connections. Comcast’s internet service is a major part of its telecommunications business.
Hybrid fiber-coaxial: A broadband network architecture that uses fiber-optic lines to neighborhood nodes and coaxial cable for final connections. Comcast’s cable broadband network relies on this architecture.
Peacock: A subscription streaming service owned by NBCUniversal that offers television, films, and original programming. Peacock extends Comcast’s media business into direct-to-consumer streaming.

AT&T: An American telecommunications company providing wireless, broadband, and other communication services. AT&T competes with Comcast in connectivity while relying more heavily on wireless and fiber networks.
Comcast–NBCUniversal merger: The transaction through which Comcast acquired control of NBCUniversal, completed in stages beginning in 2011. The merger transformed Comcast from a cable operator into a major media owner.
